Vos geven iz geven un nito...

"Vos geven iz geven, un nito" means "what was, was, and is no more."  Direct and powerful, that statement should be easy to understand and accept, but it's not always quite that simple.

I haven't posted in over a year, and there is much to tell.  So much has changed.  I went back to work after 3 months on temporary disability following the hip revision surgery, and lost my job a month later.  I could write a book about that whole episode, but with the clarity of 20/20 hindsight a year later, I think it's a topic best left alone

Mom finally decided to sell her house and move to a co-op, and I decided to move in with her.  Since I wasn't working, I took charge of the hunt for our new abode... looked at many apartments, dragged her out to see a few of the best, and ultimately we ended up in the one she had her heart set on from the very beginning... a lovely 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom first floor garden apartment with a huge outdoor patio.  Renovations took a while, and were not without surprises (water damage and termites were the worst of it)... we finally moved in mid-March 2014.  And the next chapter of our adventure begins...
